Wayne A. Newton, PE – President
Mr. Newton has over 22 years experience in site design, project management and construction management. He has managed Municipal Capital projects, shore erosion control projects, residential, commercial and industrial subdivisions and facilities. His experience is very diverse and includes design, inspection and contract management of all public and private projects completed since 1996. Mr. Newton’s experience covers all Maryland Counties, Baltimore City and the City of Annapolis and Bowie, as well as numerous jurisdictions in Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Mr. Newton has successfully completed the Erosion and Sediment control training program in the states of Maryland and Delaware and is a certified construction reviewer in the state of Delaware. Mr. Newton is responsible for timely complete delivery of all projects within the firm. He serves as project manager and is responsible for client relations, design, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control. Mr. Newton has been responsible for a wide range of project types from small building additions to large residential developments, recreational, shoreline protection, commercial and industrial/institutional projects, including municipal/public site design and inspection.
Tim Brenza, RLA – Vice President of Planning & Landscape Architecture
As a Registered Landscape Architect with over 29 years of professional experience, Mr. Brenza has been responsible for a wide variety of projects requiring technical and managerial experience in planning, supervising and administering special projects for both public and private clients. His experience includes zoning and feasibility studies, comprehensive planned communities, commercial, industrial, institutional and retail complexes, expert witness testimony, shore erosion, wetland/reforestation, critical area/environmental studies, recreational site design, as well as single family residences.
Darrell Volney, PE – Vice President of Engineering Design
Mr. Volney has been with the firm for over ten years, and has over 15 years of experience in site design, project management and construction management of development projects, residential, commercial, recreational, industrial and educational facilities. His experience is very diverse and includes the design of storm water facilities, storm drainage, erosion and sediment control, grading, water distribution and sewage collection systems. He also has extensive experience in field inspection to ensure roadway, drainage, storm water management, and utility facilities are built in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. He has successfully completed the Erosion and Sediment control training programs in the state of Maryland and is certified in the state of Maryland.
Robert J. Noeth, Jr., PE
Mr. Noeth joined Messick & Associates in 2009 as a project manager and brought with him over 28 years of experience in management and design of engineering projects. He manages projects in both the public and private sectors, giving Messsick the diversity and knowledge needed to expedite the projects. He has managed the design of numerous residential, commercial and industrial facilities including McKinsey Park, an awarding winning adult community in Severna Park, MD, the flue gas desulfurization system for the existing Brandon Shores Power Plant for BGE, as well as the engineering design of the strorm drainage and stormwater management system for the Arundel Mills Mall, a 65 acre regional retail facility. His experience also includes the design and project management of recreational and walking rail facilities. His areas of expertise, in addition to project management, include the design of storm drainage systems, stormwater management facilities, grading, sediment and erosion control design, floodplain analyses, water distribution and gravity sewer system design, road design, specification writing and permit acquisition. He has a thorough knowledge of hydraulics and hydrology including computer modeling and has conducted several stormwater management technical design courses.
